1980 may have kicked off the decade of decadence or maybe its events pushed us in that direction. Mount St. Helens erupted in may and Ronald Reagan was nominated for President in July. We lost AC/Dc’s Bon Scott in February, Steve McQueen in March and Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham in September. And then the unthinkable. John Lennon murdered in December. It’s no wonder so many people watched Dallas to see who shot JR. Everybody need a diversion. Music was the glue that helped us get through 1980 and we’ll grab 9 great songs from 1980 tomorrow after Bob & Tom for Wozz’s 9@9.
