 1977 was the year we elected Jimmy Carter President. He gave pardons to Vietnam draft dodgers and gave Panama back its Canal. We had our first Space Shuttle flight and the first Quadraphonic concert in London (Pink Floyd) and Donna Summer is credited for sparking what would become the Synthesizer era with “I Feel Love”. Star Wars opens in theaters, Roots was on TV and the oil started flowing in the Trans Alaskan Oil Pipeline. We lost “The King” on August 16^th and The Police, Van Halen and The Cars got their first record deal. A nationwide Gallop poll named Kiss the Hottest band in America.
