Thursday Nine at Nine 1983

Thursday after Bob & Tom we'll celebrate 1983. The year MASH ended it's 11 year tv run. The show was almost 3 times longer than the war it was based on. It was the most watched tv episode in history at the time. We're used to seeing Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley these days, thanks to tireless promotion and Gene's "Family Jewels"show. In 1983, that wasn't the case and when Kiss unmasked, the world watched ... and then pleaded with them to re-apply the make-up. Quiet Riot has a number one album, we were surrounded by Cabbage Patch kids and teens couldn't wait to get one of those new boom-boxes. Vacation, Trading Places and Return of the Jedi were at the movies and even Wisconsin girls started Valley-Girl talking to the max.
