Former Detroit Lions great Alex Karras is suffering from kidney failure and only has days to live. He is under hospice care at his home in California.
Karras has dealt with numerous health setbacks of late, including a battle with dementia.
Karras was one of the NFL's most dominant players from 1958-1970. He was named to the All-Decade team for the sixties and was a three time All-Pro.

Karras appeared in numerous movies and TV shows, including a starring role in the ABC sitcom "Webster," in which he played the husband of his real-life wife, actress Susan Clark. Karras also made appearances on "M*A*S*H" and "The Odd Couple."
