Metallica's Black album turns 21 this year. In honor of that milestone, U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine will release a special tribute album, titled The Black Album: Covered, in next week's (June 20) issue, featuring a wide range of fiery metal bands.
Rise to Remain, the Defiled, Lost Alone and Your Demise are among the bands that appear on the upcoming album to put their personal spin on Metallica's always-fierce tracks.
In 2009, The Black Album outsold Shania Twain's 1997 album, Come on Over, as the No. 1-selling disc of the SoundScan era. The Black Album has sold 15.7 million-plus copies in the United States to date. more on this story
