STEVEN TYLER TALKED "AMERICAN IDOL". ADMITTED IT WAS HIS "NEW DRUG"
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler looked back on being a judge on "American Idol" and admitted that risk of him joining the show was a reason he took the job.
He said: "I'm one of those people that -- obviously, since I've wound up in rehab eight times -- take dangerous things and jump in with both feet."
When asked if "Idol" was his substitute for heroin, he said: "I think so. I think I'm addicted to adrenaline. It was a risky thing. The band was pissed, looking for other singers. But then they found out that my job brought the catalog up 270 percent."
Earlier this month, Tyler announced he was leaving the show to return to Aerosmith.
He admitted: "It's television. It's not my forte."
