GNR Working on 'Chinese Democracy' Follow Up

The next album has to be better than Chinese Democracy, right? Guitarist DJ Ashba gave an update on Guns N' Roses in an interview and talked about what's to come. The band has another Vegas residency starting on Halloween and running through November 24th. It's not often they're in one place for so long, so the guys will use their down time to starting working on the next album.

Ashba says: “[Axl] has tons of stuff recorded that he’s played for me and wants my input on.

“This is the first time we’re all going to be in the same place for a month solid. That will be our main focus – it has already been talked about. I think we’re going to get a lot done. It’s just a matter of sitting down and working together as a band, putting together what we feel is gonna be the best Guns record.

“Axl’s put together such a talented group of musicians, and there are so many songs that are already worked out. We’ve got a good jump on it, for sure – and I can’t wait. I’m so excited to dive even deeper into that.”

Guns N' Roses have promised different shows in Las Vegas.

Ashba explains: “We’re playing three shows a week and our main goal is to make every show unique. We realise there are going to people flying from all over the world to maybe one, two, three shows. We so take into consideration there are local people that may show up to every single show. It’s so spontaneous live – we’ve never followed a set list.”

Ashba says: “A lot of acoustic shows in the past, I would still play on the Les Paul. But for this we’re going all acoustic – no electric anything. That’s how Neil envisioned the whole thing, so we’re going to stay true to that.

“We’re going to add a couple of songs the band’s never played. I know Axl is really excited to do it.”
