Here's How to Handle "Over Sharers" on Facebook

Posted by Amber Lee on

You either have one of these problems or both. You log on to your Facebook page and your Newsfeed is filled with political pictures, links to political articles, political quotes, political opinions... it's all politics everywhere. And, it's usually a handful of 'Facebook Friends' who are responsible.

OR, you've got a friend who posts to Facebook every 15 minutes and drives you crazy. They've taken up your entire Newsfeed and you know every single thing they've done every minute of every day.

OK - now let's say you don't want to delete them as friends, but you do want to take back your Newsfeed.

Here's what you do:

1) Go to your Facebook homepage where you find your Newsfeed.

2.) Scroll down to find a post from a friend you want to remove from your Newsfeed, but still keep as a Facebook friend.

3.) In the corner, you'll see a box with a down arrow. Click it.

4.) Click "HIDE" and hide the story. More options will pop up including "Unsubscribe." Click Unsubscribe and their posts won't show up in your Newsfeed.

Enjoy your new found freedom!
