Billie Joe's friends and band-mates are behind him, even though it means putting the band on hold. Bassist Mike Dirnt opened up to BBC Radio 1 about what was going on before Billie's meltdown, revealing he was overworked and tired. (Sleeping on a cramped bus for months at a time? That has to get to you). Having to promote three albums in three months didn't help either:

“It was a tremendous undertaking … (and) it catches up with you a little bit. We definitely jumped off a moving train... All that inertia. There were signs of things hitting the fan, we hadn’t slept in forever... We had to put the life of our friend in front of everything.”

Mike admits he hasn't seen Billie Joe since the IHeartRadio Music Festival when the outburst occurred.
