Jonathan Davis Says Dubstep is the New Heavy Metal

I don't know if you'll completely agree with this statement: 'Dubstep is the new electronic heavy metal,' but let's see what Korn's frontman has to say.

"North American dubstep is the new electronic heavy metal. It's the filthier, the better in that world, and with heavy metal, it's the heavier the better, so it's kind of the same thing."

People get excited when "J Devil" (his alter-ego) tells them to f' off.

"I make people drop their jaws because I'm just up there telling them to go f*ck themselves. No one's ever done that at an EDM show and crowds are loving it. It's not like I'm offending anyone – people are like 'Yeah, f*ck you too!'"

AND, Jonathan Davis isn't so keen on music labels.

"We don't need labels anymore. When the machine worked in the early days of Korn with Epic, that sh*t was amazing. We had MTV, we had video stations and labels that cared and put the work in, but now it's so diluted and f*cked up. We're going underground again. Commercialised music is just commercialised bullsh*t. Do we really need labels anymore with the way things went with the internet? I don't think so."

J Devil is opening up on the Twins of Evil Tour for Rob Zombie & Manson!
